Welcome to the home of Nuns, Mothers and Others.

If you've come looking for information on the cloistered life, the closest you'll come is how house-bound writers feel when they're working under a deadline.

Our name refers to the occupations of our fictional sleuths. Lee Harris writes about an ex-nun, Valerie Wolzien and Jonnie Jacobs about mothers (and others, but more about that later), and Lora Roberts about a freelance writer.

Our group name grew from the first tour we did as a foursome one summer (see our Travel Diary). We felt that, as we would never be involved in a rock star tour with a cool name, we'd have to come up with a book tour name that expressed us in some way. Since we are four very different people, this was hard. Finally, in a fit of late-night e-mail madness, Jonnie jokingly suggested "Nuns, Mothers & Others." Valerie and Lee liked it. Lora wasn't thrilled about being designated "other" but she decided it was preferable to having her sleuth become a nun or mother.

Since that time, Valerie has established a series about a woman contractor who is both mother and other. Jonnie's second series features a young attorney as sleuth (definitely an "other")!

We've toured together several times since that first outing. We began writing a newsletter together. The response (not to mention fun) has been great in both those endeavors—meeting readers is the next best thing to creating your own personal universe to play in, which is why people stick with writing in the face of many obstacles.

Now we're meeting our readers virtually here in cyberspace, and to that end, we've each put together our own space—kinda like a dorm room with personal clutter and stuff you might find interesting.

As mentioned before, we've collected our newsletters. We're showing you our new covers, and complaining about our old ones. And if you want to know what books we've written and how to send any or all of us e-mail, that's here too.
